The Car Club of the Month for March 2007 is:

A car club with no dues, no officers and no car show attendance policy.
They may be the Dead End Cruizers but by no means is the club at a dead end. This club has grown from one guy, Paul Degener. Paul was a member of a large club in his local area and had grown tired of all the politics that go with some clubs. So he decided to become the best li'l car club in the Northeast. He founded a new club that would have no dues, no officers and no meetings. Just a group of people that would get together at car shows and cruises. With that format in place, in a few short years they have grown to over 100 members.
Up until last year the club never hosted a car show or a cruise night. That all changed when Paul ended up in the hospital with kidney failure. A show was held in his benefit and raised close to nine hundred dollars, which they tried to give to Paul. However, he refused to take it so the money was donated to the Kidney foundation in his name. This year they are planning another show and again the funds raised will go to the Kidney foundation in Paul’s name.
The Dead End Cruizers have also started a cruise night to help raise funds for the car show and this is turning out to be one of the fastest growing cruises in the area. The cruise night attracted close to ninety cars on the third night and has continued to grow every week.
The Dead End Cruizers travel to events all over the Northeast, putting on over 7000 miles a year. They have no formal attendance policy for car shows but they always have enough members to win the club participation award. As they like to say, “remember ..ya build them to drive.”
The Dead End Cruizers from Albany, New York are about cars and friendships. All are welcome. When they get together they are all car guys and girls, everyone is equal. They have home-built cars and they have pro-built cars; they have full-blown customs to full-blown street cars and everything in-between. It doesn’t matter, so long as you drive it and enjoy it and the people that go along with this hobby. That is why they are…. the best li'l car club in the Northeast.
