The Car Club of the Month for December 2008 is:

Arizona Region of the Classic Car Club of America
A club that enjoys promotion, preservation, and reservation of rare classic cars is the Arizona Region of the Classic Car Club of America. The Arizona Region brings its members up-to-date information on "Full Classic®" cars. Those who live in Arizona will find plenty to see and do locally as well as nationally when they join the Arizona Region.
What is a Full Classic (R) Car?
The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) defines Full Classic® cars as any distinctive or fine cars, whether built in America or in a foreign country, which were produced between the years 1925 and 1948. There are some cars that were built before 1925 that are almost identical to the 1925 models. These are recognized by CCCA occasionally and may be accepted by the club upon special request and approval. Many CCCA classic cars were high priced when brand new and were produced in limited numbers.
Other determining factors for identifying a Full Classic® car include custom coach work, displacement of the engine, and luxury items such as power clutch, power brakes, automatic lubrication systems (or oneshot systems), etc. The CCCA official website provides a complete list of cars that are classified as Full Classics®. Some of the brands listed include A.C., Adler, Ballot, Blackhawk, Nash, Packard, Hudson, Frazer-Nash, Franklin, Jaguar, Chrysler, Cord, LaSalle, Lincoln-Continental, and Willys-Knight.
About the National Classic Car Club of America (CCCA)
CCCA is the national club that recognizes Full Classics®, some of the finest cars in the world manufactured from 1925 to 1948. CCCA offers members many benefits on a national level such as a national meet event, a Members' Handbook Roster, a color magazine called The Classic Car, and another magazine called The Bulletin. The Bulletin focuses on technical stuff, CCCA news, and classified ads. The Classic Car magazine offers articles and photos on Full Classic® cars from the past.
CCCA members can enjoy a number of events each year including the National Annual Meeting, Spring Grand Classics, Classic Europe (European Caravan), CCCA Experience, Big Sky Caravan, Summer Grand Classics, Concours d'Elegance, and many others. CCCA also has a website where members can read about club history, see a detailed list of the cars classified as Full Classics®, surf classifieds, learn about the CCCA Museum, and more.

Arizona Region Publication
The club publishes an award-winning newsletter titled the Arizona Classic Roadrunner, which is downloadable at the website. The newsletter is in full color and is printed five times per year. The newsletter highlights meets and events that go on throughout the year. It contains feature cars with great photos and descriptions. It lists the region's Board of Managers and Committee members along with their phone numbers and email addresses. The newsletter provides technical tips, great articles, classified ads, editor notes, an event calendar for the Arizona Region and national events, and it features details about local club happenings.
Joining the Arizona Region of CCCA
New members are always welcome to join the Arizona Region club. Members must also be a member of CCCA before applying for membership. Ownership of a Full Classic® car is not required to join. Those wanting to join can print a form from the website and mail it in or they may contact the Membership Chairman.
Some of the benefits members receive include club meetings, mini-tours, club picnics, garage hops, and many other monthly events. Sometimes, the members just meet for lunch or dinner to chat about their favorite hobby. There are also caravans to tour the beautiful scenery of Arizona.
Arizona Region's Annual Meeting
The Arizona Region holds the AZCCCA Annual Meeting where members are updated on club information, board issues, club activities, and more. The meetings include some fun stuff too such as an auction breakfast, tours, a mini-caravan, and more. The club also has a holiday party during the Christmas season.
The Arizona Region Website
The region's website features an extensive photo gallery of members' classic cars, details and slideshows about the Caravan, descriptions and links for Full Classic® cars, past publications of the Arizona Classic Roadrunner newsletter, and membership information. There are also many helpful technical articles to assist members with restorations and mechanical needs.
At the Arizona Region of CCCA, members can join others who love rare classics from the past for local fun and activities all year long.
